Athens is a system some institutions use to enable their staff and students to log in to their subscribed eBooks, eJournals and other online services such as research databases.

The Library does not use Athens. It uses a mixture of two other services called EZProxy and Shibboleth/UK Federated Access.

There are some students at Manchester Metropolitan who may have access to Athens authenticated online services provided by the NHS. These students are on specific courses. They can access the NHS Core Content.
