Accompanied children are allowed into certain parts of the Library for brief visits so that parents or guardians can return and/or renew items.
However, children may disturb students working in the study areas and there are certain features in our Libraries, e.g. staircases and balconies, which pose a potential risk for them. For this reason access is restricted to the foyer and/or the area round the counter and help desk. If you are experiencing difficulties Library staff will do their best to help you get what you need and are happy to retrieve material for you from the shelves.
To ensure a safe and secure environment for you and your child we ask that they are closely supervised at all times whilst in the Library and are not taken to the study areas, or allowed to wander on the staircases. This includes taking children into a study area whilst doing research or accessing a PC. This way we can maintain an appropriate study environment and ensure that others are not disturbed.
Children are welcome to visit the Museum which is housed on the 3rd Floor of All Saints Library but they must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Please note that this is not a study area and access to other parts of the Library is not permitted.
