There is a procedure for designating visiting positions on the Manchester Metropolitan University Human Resources website.
The designations most commonly employed are as follows:
- Visiting Research Fellow/Teaching Fellow/Enterprise Fellow
- Visiting Lecturer/Senior Lecturer
- Visiting Professor
Human Resources issue a letter to you and provide you with a University ID card. Use that card to swipe into our libraries in Crewe and All Saints (Manchester). Please visit the help desk in the library the first time you visit to fill out a registration form and get a 4-digit PIN so you can borrow and reserve books.
To access IT and eBooks, eJournals and other eResources you may request a Visiting Guest IT Account (if required) from the IT Helpline. Human Resources will be notified of this request, and asked to approve it. Please state when requesting the account from IT that you have a designated visiting position and require access to Library eResources.
Please note that due to specific license agreements with some resource providers, access to some electronic material may be restricted to employees of the University only.
The Library also offers a service for walk-in user access to some of our eResources.
