In order for certain research outputs to be eligible for the REF they must comply with the REF 2021 Open Access Policy:

From 1st April 2016, articles and conference papers (with an ISSN) will only be eligible for the next REF if:

  • The output is deposited in an institutional repository within 3 months of acceptance
  • The output must be deposited as the author's accepted manuscript

This means that for articles and conference papers (with an ISSN) to be compliant for the REF, your author accepted manuscript needs to be in e-space within 3 months of acceptance. To get your outputs in e-space you will need to deposit them in Symplectic. For information on how to deposit, see the e-space guide.
