When you select Read Online you open an eBook in your web browser. You do not need any additional software installed on your computer, but you will not be able to continue to read the eBook if you are not connected to the internet. 

eBooks in heavy demand are only available as read online.

Some eBooks allow you to download them for 24 hours so you can read them offline on a personal computer or mobile device. You will not be able to download eBooks on a shared computer such as a Library PC. 

Personal Laptop/Desktop PCs or Macs  - users will require:

1.       Some software called Adobe Digital Editions

2.       An Adobe Digital Editions account. The software is free and you create the account when you download the software.

Mobile Device users require:

1.       The VLEbooks app from either Apple App Store or Google Play Store depending upon iOS or Android device
